RYDE CEMETERY – HERITAGE & LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE

The Isle of Wight Council is delighted to announce the opening of the Heritage Learning Centre at Ryde, Isle of Wight. The centre was officially launched on September 9th 2010 and is the culmination of a major restoration project, returning Ryde Cemetery to its former Victorian glory whilst, at the same time, creating a new community facility for use by local businesses, organisations, schools and voluntary groups.

The heritage and Learning Resource Centre is set in beautiful landscaped grounds, in a conservation and heritage area, and can accommodate a maximum of twenty people. With three computer suites, on line facilities, training and presentation equipment and tea and coffee making facilities, the Centre provides a unique environment for business meetings, training sessions, exhibitions and/or presentations.

There will be an Open Day on Wednesday December 8th, to give potential users an opportunity to view the Centre, and its facilities, and if they wish discuss their individual requirements with staff. The Centre will be available for hire at reasonable rates for 7 days a week throughout the year including evenings and its future depends upon the support of local people.

We hope you will be able to attend the Open Day and to make use of this wonderful new addition to locally provided services. Representatives of the IWC look forward to meeting you, on the day, to explore how the Centre could assist your organisation, business or group.
