In September our Research Team, led by Ann Barrett, added biographical detail to 34 records on the website.

Various archives have been searched and in these updates you will find details about:

* Report of the death and funeral of Mrs Sarah Candy in October 1887, she was the hostess of the Crown Hotel for many years.
* Report of the death and funeral of Thomas Dashwood, the first Mayor of Ryde, in September 1907.
* Report of the death of Mr James Henry Gallaway in December 1931. Former Deputy Chief Constable of the Island County Constabulary, he had served in the police force for 28 years.
* Report of the death of Mr Albert Reeves in October 1932, he was a survivor of the Selina Lifeboat disaster of 1907.
