OCTOBER 2014 BIOGRAPHICAL ADDITIONS TO RECORDS

In October our Research Team added biographical information to 40 records on the website.

Lots of interesting stories were uncovered by our Research Team in October including:

* Report of the death of Mrs Mary Shearne in December 1940. She was the widow of Canon John Shearme who was vicar of Ryde from 1892 to 1905.

* Report of the death of Mrs Elizabeth Parker in February 1956, she came from a well known local family of Salvationists.

* Report of the death of Mrs Ellen Hollis in November 1930 she formerly held the licences of the Turks Head in Lind Street and the Eagle in the High Street.

* Report of the death of Mr Robert Battersby in February 1942. For over 35 years he had been associated with the cycle business in Hill Street Ryde first established by his father.
