Ryde Cemetery Restoration Project is running free training sessions.

Ryde Cemetery Restoration Project is running free training sessions as part of the project.

The first two events are:

“UNDERSTANDING GENEALOGY”
Thursday 16 October 2008 10am to 1pm at Ryde Library
The training will be delivered by Sheila Caws, the Island Heritage Librarian.

The session will provide an introduction to understanding genealogy and tracing family histories including undertaking computer research.

“RESEARCHING HISTORIC PEOPLE”
Tuesday 28 October 6pm to 9pm at The George Street Centre, George St, Ryde
The training will be delivered by Richard Smout, IW Heritage Service Manager.

This session will provide an introduction to researching historic people/events and local heritage utilising local research facilities.

These two sponsored events are being delivered as part of the Ryde Cemetery Restoration Project and are funded by the Isle of Wight Council and The Heritage Lottery Fund.
