Our fantastic Research Team added detail to 34 records.

Our fantastic Research Team, lead by Ann Barrett, were busy at work in December and added detail to 34 records on the website.

December’s additions also include: information about the death of a prominent Ryde sportsman, Bert Bevis in 1949; the death of Mr Charles Carter a coach builder in 1888 at the young age of 37; the marriage of Mr J Cowper Blake to Miss E Una Walker in 1902; the Marriage of General Daly’s daughter Maud to Captain Reginald Coates in 1903; the death of J Dolohan in 1888, he had been a hero of the Crimean War and later served with the Metropolitan police; the death of Mr John Marshall in 1930, he had been the first inspector of the NSPCC to be based on the Island and was respected throughout the Island for this work; as well as census, directory and death notices from the local papers for many others.
