Our busy Research Team, lead by Ann Barrett, added detail to 60 of the records on the website in January 2009.

This month’s additions include the death notice fro Mr H Austin a celebrated cornet player in 1862; information about the career and death of Vice-Admiral John Brenton in 1859; the death of an Indian Mutiny Veteran, Mr William Hooper, in 1918; a transcript of the Will of Mr George Lake who died in 1848; death notice for Miss Sophia Milligan in 1893, she donated the money for the building of the Milligan Convalescent home that was attached to the Royal IW Hospital in Ryde as a lasting memorial to her parents; Golden Wedding notice for Mr and Mrs James Sweeney in 1958; Wedding notice of Mr Albert Prewer and Miss Evelyn Teague in 1912 as well as census other information added to many more records.
