WEDDINGS & ROYALS

On Saturday 30 April & Sunday 1 May Ryde Social Heritage Group will be hosting two Open Days at Ryde Cemetery Heritage & Learning Centre. Opening times are 10am to 4pm each day and the theme will be Weddings & Royals.

The event will include:

An exhibition on Royalty and Weddings
A tableaux of a Victorian wedding
A quiz on unusual Victorian wedding gifts
A collection of souvenir newspapers and programmes for royal events
Scrapbooks, photographs and wedding costumes
Guided cemetery walks
Trails for children
Art activities for all ages
Exhibition of weddings in miniature
Wedding dolls
A display of work carried out in Ryde Cemetery by local school children.

There will be a children’s fancy dress competition on the theme of royals, Victorians or weddings judging will take place at 2pm each day with prizes awarded for the best dressed.

Everyone welcome, Admission free – refreshments available for a small donation.
