RSHG SHORTLISTED FOR THE COMMUNITY ACTION AWARDS

Ryde Social Heritage Group was nominated for an award in the Arts & Heritage category in this year’s Community Action Awards.

The competition is run by the IW Rural Community Council to celebrate, encourage and reward organisations and community groups dedicated to the Island’s voluntary sector.

There were 48 entries from across the Island and we are delighted to have been one of 18 groups shortlisted. We met with the judges at the Heritage Centre in Ryde Cemetery for about 20 minutes on Tuesday 10 May and showed them some of the work our fantastic group of volunteers produce. Twenty minutes is a very short time to try and explain all that RSHG achieves but we hope that we made a good impression on the judges.

Four members of RSHG Committee will be attending the Awards Ceremony at the Riverside Centre on Wednesday June 8. All the groups shortlisted are worthy of winning a prize and whatever the outcome on the night we are grateful to have been recognised for consideration.

We wish all the groups that will be attending the awards the very best of luck and we are looking forward to a fantastic evening.
