As part of Ryde Arts Festival (24 June to 2 July) and to celebrate the NatWest Island Games XIV being held on the Isle of Wight (25 June to 1 July) we have an exhibition on Ryde Sporting Life in Ryde Library until 16 July.

The exhibition includes detail about the Ashey Races, Ryde Lawn Mead Tennis Club and other sporting events and characters from Ryde. If you have any memories or photographs of sporting events that you would care to share with us we would love to hear from you. Just click on Contact Us in the green bar at the top of the page. We have a large and growing archive of memories and information about Ryde’s past which we make available to the public on our website and at Open Days.

Our next Open Day is:
Sunday 26 June 10am to 4pm at St Thomas Heritage Centre, St Thomas Church, Ryde.

We will also be supporting and have lots of historic information about the town and people of Ryde at the Bereavement Services Open Day at the Heritage and Learning Centre in Ryde Cemetery on Saturday 2 July 10:30am to 4:30pm.
