In July our Research Team, led by Ann Barrett, added biographical detail to 35 records on the website. Archives of local newspapers, census, directories and probate have been searched and you will find detail on:

* Details of a court case against by five doctors against Mr James George Duffett in 1934. He was a well known tradesman in Ryde and proprietor of the Lion Brewery, he died in 1935.

* Report of the retirement of Mr Charles Harvey in 1900, he had entered the Trinity Service as an apprentice in 1842 and was made a pilot in 1851, by the time he retired he had more than 48 years service.

* Report on the death and funeral of Miss Caroline Stewart Maclaren in 1924, she had been the superintendent of the YMCA in Garfield House for 15 years.

* Report of the death of Wilfred Herbert Rigg in 1916 in the torpedoing of the SS Persial.

* Report of the marriage of Mr William Edward Souter to Miss Ethel Louise Mears in 1902.
