ART & FAMILY HISTORY COMBINED

Workshop May 2014
Workshop May 2014

We had a fantastic day at the Heritage & Learning Centre in Ryde Cemetery on 10 May hosting a workshop on making Family History Shrines.

Only three people signed up for the workshop but nevertheless we had a wonderful, creative and chatty day.

Janette Gregson, Chairman of RSHS, facilitated the workshop and brought along all of her personal art supplies for the particpants to use. Prior to the workshop Janette had created tri-fold booklets for the participants to create their Family History Shrines in.

In the morning Janette showed the participants how to create a background using layers of paint, stencilling and stamping and in the afternoon the participants decorated their three page booklets with images of their family.

Here are some images of work in progress as the backgrounds were created.

Many thanks to Olive, Shelagh and Sally-Ann for participating in the workshop and making it such an enjoyable day.
