Poppy Making

Here at last is a slideshow of images from our Field of Remembrance Project in November 2014.

With many thanks to RSHG members, members of the public, John Martin and Tom Seal, Rev Graham Morris, Ryde Academy, Dover Park School, 3rd Ryde Grils Brigade. the Military Preparation College Ryde Library Walkers group and everyone who came along and made one of the 500 poppies.

In WW1 more than 500 men from Ryde lost their lives and it gave us pause for thought to contemplate how devastating that must have been for the town.

At the memorial service on 11 November we remembered all those lost in all areas of conflict.
