EXCHANGE TALK

Union Street
Union Street

Our chairman, Janette Gregson, gave a very interesting and amusing talk to the Friends of Carisbrooke Castle Museum on March 18th. The subject was the history of Union Street, Ryde. This was in return for the talk, “The Secrets of the Diary,” presented at a RSHG Members Meeting last year by Lin Watterson from the Friends of Carisbrooke Castle Museum.

Janette and Kate (who just went along to carry the laptop) were made very welcome when they arrived at the locked castle gates in the pitch dark! The large audience were most appreciative and afterwards posed some interesting questions as well as prompting lively discussion.
