Members Meeting April 2018

Although it was not the best attendance we have had recently, 33 members and 4 visitors turned out to hear Shelagh Gaylard welcome them to the April Quarterly Meeting. This was followed by a summary of the events attended and activities undertaken during the first three months of the year and included comments on visits to other groups by our “Meet the Residents” strolling players. Further reports were made on Membership, now at an all-time high of 90, Finances and also Research which now boasts 20,000 records.

Following a break for the raffle and refreshments Nick Minns gave a talk entitled “Island Postcard Adventure” which, as well as being informative and in places amusing, encouraged audience participation. In conclusion the audience were invited to identify various local views and places depicted on a series of old postcards.
