Advertising Extraordinary
Su Shi by Mengfu 13/14 century Chinese
During the past week Mr Wintle, the well-known grocer of High-street, has adopted a new method of advertising, a native of the Flowery Land, with pigtail, pointed boot, and picturesque dress, being employed to deliver bills in this and other towns, and to help in the shop. As few Ryde people have ever seen a Chinaman before a great deal of interest has been excited.
