Map Criticism

Letters to the Editor

Sir.- residents, as well as visitors, will study the large map in the Western Gardens. They will find some excellent drawings of some buildings which they have never seen, or never noticed, but they will fail to find any sign of the great majority of the fine leading churches, which all welcome visitors.

They can scarcely avoid seeing our private schools, but will look in vain for the Island’s largest cinema, or the High Street one; yet surely these should be primary objects in such a plan.

No one expects strict accuracy, but adult users of the Canoe Lake will not welcome its name of “Children’s Boating Lake.”
