Comment received from Julie Rosina Power(nee Halsted): I think that your ongoing project is proving to be very successful and helpful to people such as myself. Leonard Halsted I believe to be the elder brother (born 3.12.1828 Newchurch) of my Gt-Grandfather Charles who died on 1.4.1882 aged 47, at No.2 Castle St Ryde, a few days after his daughter Rose Harriet died on 21.3.1882 aged 20 (grave also recorded by RSHG.) Leonard's wife was a Sarah Jennings and they married on 12.4.1853 IoW. The parents of Leonard, Charles and other siblings were Thomas Halsted, died 5.4.1870 Ryde, and Harriet Halsted (nee Combes), died 1887. She is on 1881 census as living with her daughter Eliza at 37 Swanmore Rd, Ryde.
