Grave Condition Description: After the ivy was removed the stone and inscriptions were very good
Other Information: This grave was covered over with a blanket of ivy (see picture below) but was cleared by RSHG so the inscription could be read.
The following information was provided by Dorothy G. Hogan-Schofield, Curator, Sandwich Glass Museum, P.O. Box 103,Sandwich, MA 02563, USA:
Anna Smith Stutson, daughter of Captain Levi Stutson and his wife Mary, was born in 1795. She married Deming Jarves on May 24, 1815. Deming Javres was the founder of the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company as well as several other New England glass factories. Upon Jarves' death in 1869, according to local papers, Anna set sail for England, possibly to be with her daughter Anna Maria.
Anna Maria Jarves was born 1822 or 23. She was the fourth child of Anna and Deming. She married Oliver Brewster (b. 1809-1810 d. October 17, 1868) on December 7, 1854 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Boston . Anna Maria and Oliver had one son, William Brewster (b. Jan 27, 1858).
