The Crocus a sure sign of Spring

Crocus

Yellow Crocus Flowers

In February the crocuses began to appear in the Cemetery bringing some welcome colour and a promise that Spring is not far away.

The crocus is a bulbous plant with brilliant yellow, purple or white flowers. These plants are cultivated for their showy, solitary flowers, which are among the first to bloom in the spring. The true crocus blossoms are of a yellowish or saffron shade. This beautiful flower is dedicated to the special day for lovers St. Valentine’s Day.
