Ryde Social Heritage Group Members’ Meeting July 2017

The Chairman welcomed 34 members and 3 visitors to the July Quarterly Meeting, Secretary and Treasurer’s reports were given.  Ann Barrett, gave up to date news of the present research and activities of the Group. This was followed by an interesting and informative talk, entitled ‘Best of Times, Worst of Times’  given by Kevin  Shaw, relating to  the lives of people in the years of the Industrial Revolution. It brought home how our forefathers lived, when the world was emerging from living on the land to working down the mines, in factories and foundries.
