July 2006 – RSHG Display Case installed in Ryde Cemetery

The Case was purchased with part of the grant received by RSHG from the Local Heritage Initiative for our project:

RYDE’S HERITAGE – OUR TOWN, YOUR HISTORIES.
Eventually we intend to commission an artist to produce a map of the cemetery showing the layout, some of the flora and fauna, the buildings and some of the many interesting graves to be found in the cemetery.
In the meantime the board is displaying information about RSHG and the cemetery.

We would like to thank the Isle of Wight Council’s Bereavement Services Section for permission to install the board, Mark Stallard Transport of Wootton Bridge for transporting it to the Island and Clancy Docwra for carrying out the installation. Without their assistance we could not have done it.
