August additions to records

Our fantastic Research Team added detail to 75 records on the website in August. The information includes census, death notices, funeral notices and inquest detail.

The information covers people from all walks of life including a an internationally famous singer (Madame Maud Santley), the retirement of the Cemetery Superintendent, death of the landlady of the Hand-in-Hand public house, details of young men killed in action, the military career of a Major-General in the Madras Native Infantry, the death of a former Mayor of Ryde, and sad reports of tragic accidents. There is much of interest to local historians to be found in this additional detail.
