Looking Back – Down Memory Lane

The Pavilion
The Pavilion

Ann Barrett, leader of our Research Group, has this month included snippets from 1960 in our Looking Back Feature.

We hope this will inspire some of you to recollect and share with us memories of Ryde in times past.

We are building an extensive archive of MEMORIES OF RYDE and would love to hear from any of you with your memories of the town. These could include memories of school, the shops, people and/or events that took place in the town.

You can include as little or as much as you like as we feel it is important to capture and record these memoirs. You can either contact us through the website by clicking on the Contact Us link below, or write your memories down (legibly please!) and send them to Carol Strong, RSHG Publications Leader, 30 Birch Gardens, Binstead, Ryde, PO33 3XB. Please include your name and contact details and a date of the recollection (approximate date if you are not sure). Please say if you would prefer for your name not to be included when we publish the material and we will respect your anonymity.

Your memories are precious, please don’t let them get lost in time.

We hope you enjoyed the 50 Years Ago addition this month, we will include it again when we can but unfortunately due to lack of resources it won’t be a regular feature.

We look forward to hearing from you!
