In November our Research Team, led by Ann Barrett, added biographical detail to 28 records on the website. Archives of local newspapers, census, directories and probate have been searched and you will find detail on:

* Report of the death and funeral of Col. Archibald W Clarke of Thornbrough, Binstead Road Ryde in May 1901.

* Report of the death and funeral of Mrs Florence Bernard Clarke of Thornborogh, Binstead Road, Ryde in June 1935. Also some poetry written by Mrs Clarke.

* Inquest into the tragic death of Mary Ann Davidson a child who died from the effect of severe burns in 1867.

* Report of the sad death of Mr Goulding Hall in November 1928. He collapsed and died while visiting his wife’s grave.

* Report of the life, death and funerl of Alderman E James who died in January 1934.

* Report of the tragic death of Ryde Footballer William Jones in April 1899.
