Ryde Pier is the UK’s oldest pier and it was 200 years ago that the Act of Parliament was passed to allow the construction of the pier. To celebrate the anniversary Wightlink are hosting the ‘Party on the Pier’!

There will be live music throughout the day from Platform One who will be showcasing some of the work of students, the IOW Symphony Orchestra and the Medina Marching Band will be marching up the pier at 12:10.

Plus you will be able to view Vintage, Classis, Custom and Retro cars; an exhibition about the history of the pier by Ryde Social Heritage Group; and art displays from Dover Park School. Gifts which have been made from the original pier wood will also be available to purchase.

That’s not all! To keep the children entertained there will be a Treasure Hunt competition.
