In May our Research Team, led by Ann Barrett, added biographical detail to 33 records on the website.
Various archives have been searched and you will find:

* Report of the death of Alice Mary Bolton in June 1936, for 25 years she was associated with the Ryde District Nursing Association and was one of the most popular and well loved members of the community.

* Report of the death of Mr Charles Edward Butcher in March 1940. Mr Butcher from Binstead was an old soldier having served in the South African War at Rorkes Drift and in the Transylvania campaign.

* Report of the death of James Hewlett Cox in February 1916. Mr Cox was a veteran of the Crimean War.

* Report of the marriage between Sidney Hogg and Daisy Feben in April 1902

* Report of the death of Frank Stanley Nash in 1977. Mr Nash was well known in the town for his popular fish and chip shop business in the High Street.
