In August our Research Team, led by Ann Barrett, added biographical detail to 13 records on the website. Not as many as usual due to the amount of research the team did in preparation for our exhibition for Heritage Open Days 6 – 9 September 2012.

Various archives have been searched and in this month’s additions you will find:

* Details of the wedding of Mr H J Venus of Binstead to Miss Maud Ryder of Sandown in June 1921

* Obituary for Samuel Sothcott who died in April 1891. Mr Sothcott was a porter on Ryde Pier

* Details of the funeral of Mr George Ingram in December 1911. Mr Ingram had been a member of the Fire Brigade a number of years.
