In December our Research Team, led by Ann Barrett, added biographical detail to 30 records on the website.

Various archives have been searched and in this month’s additions you will find details on the lives and deaths of:

George Luard ALEXANDER, Capt and Brigade Major, ith Battalion (Post Office Rifle) who died in August 1917

The death of Frederick BUTCHER, the infant son of Henry Butcher, in December 1868. Henry Butcher was the Superintendent of Ryde Cemetery.

Report of the death of Elizabeth JACKSON in January 1907. Mrs Jackson’s husband James was a Toy and Fancy Goods dealer with a shop in the Victoria Arcade.

Report of the Naval funeral of Richard STICKLAND in January 1913. Three volleys were fired and the last post sounded.
