In October our Research Team, led by Ann Barrett, added biographical detail to 38 records on the website, and also three other people from Ryde who were cremated or interred elsewhere.

Various archives have been searched and in these updates you will find details about:

* The death and funeral of Sergeant-Pilot Edmund Eric Sheppard of Binstead in October 1940 at only 23 years of age.

* Congratulations from the King to Mr and Mrs George Morris on the occasion of their 68th Wedding Anniversary in May 1929.

* Report of the death of Mr Percy Reginald Bessant in December 1935. Mr Bessant had served in the Royal Navy from 1912 to 1922 and was on board HMS Vincent in the Battle of Jutland and was later employed on the Pier.
