Ryde Borough Police 1922

In November our Research Team, led by Ann Barrett, added biographical detail to 36 records on the website, and also three other people from Ryde who were cremated or interred elsewhere.

Various archives have been searched and in these updates you will find details about:

* Information about the career of Charles Greenstreet who was Chief Constable of Ryde Borough Police from November 1903 until his retirement in March 1922

* Report of the Golden Wedding of Mr Charles Crump and Mrs Ellen Tannock of Haylands on 23 January 1933.

* Report of the death Captain John Henry Jellicoe in September 1914. Capt Jellicoe was the father of Admiral Sir John Jellicoe. He had been connected with the Royal Mail Steamship Company for his entire career.
