RSHG JANUARY 2014 MEETING

An Old Diary
An old Diary

We invite you to join us for our January meeting which is to be held on Saturday 11th January 2014 10:30am to 12:30pm at the George Street Centre, George Street, Ryde.

Admission is free to RSHG members and £2 to visitors.

There will be reports on the group’s activities since the last meeting in October and a raffle and this will be followed by a presentation by Lin Watterson of Carisbrooke Castle Museum on “The Secrets of the Diary”.

The museum recently purchased the 1863 Diary of Edward Falkingham Clayton of Ryde. The diary has been painstakingly transcribed and researched and Lin will be presenting her findings which give a wealth of detail about life in Ryde in 1863.

Booklets of the transcription and research notes will be available to purchase at the meeting.

PLEASE NOTE: The image is of an old diary from Wilkipedia and is not the diary that is the subject of the presentation.
