In December and January our busy Research Team added biographical information to 47 records on the website plus information on 5 people from Ryde who were interred or cremated elsewhere.

Lots of interesting stories were uncovered by our Research Team in the past two months including:

* Report of the career of Miss Alys Last a former Matron at the Royal IW County Hospital who died in June 1963.

* Reports of the deaths of Gunner Ralph Smith, RFA; Second Lieut Thomas Sanger; Albert Jones, Royal Marine Light Infrantry; Pte. John Grist, Leicestershire Regiment; Sergeant William Colenutt, Canadian Rifle Regiment and Arthur Cogger, Hampshire Regiment All young men from Ryde who lost their lives in WW1

* Report of the shocking accidental death of Alice Damp a young servant nurse working at a private residence.
