MARCH 2014 BIOGRAPHICAL ADDITIONS TO RECORDS

In March our busy Research Team added biographical information to 34 records on the website.

Lots of interesting stories were uncovered by our Research Team in March including:

* The report of the death of Major William Burnett Woodham at Ryde in December 1941. Major Woodham served with the Northants Regiment and spent a lot of time in India.

* The report of the death of Alfred Albert Shepherd of Cowes in 1961. Mr Shepherd was a patient at the Royal IW County Hospital in Ryde when he was stung by a wasp, he died of shock shortly afterwards

* The report of the death of Mrs Alice Mary Purnell in April 1949. Mrs Purnell was a former Mayoress of Ryde.

* The report of the death of Mr Thomas John Purchas in October 1930. Prior to retirement Mr Purchas was a member of the Exchequer and Audit Department. He was also an accomplished artist.
