As Winter draws to a close

Primula
Primula

Winter may not be over just yet but we’ve just had a couple of cold but sunny days and a walk in the cemetery revealed that Spring is just around the corner.

There are already a few Primroses and Primulas in flower, the Crocuses and snowdrops are pushing up through the cold ground with big fat buds and the daffodils are starting to bloom. It won’t be long now before the ground is carpeted with colour.

The cemetery was looking really lovely today, a great deal of maintenance and clearing work has been undertaken and the whole place is looking cared for and loved. Some of the dead trees have been removed and many of the overgrown graves have been cleared of overgrowth to reveal the hidden memorials.

“The February sunshine steeps your boughs and tints the buds and swells the leaves within.”
