Visit to Carisbrooke Castle Museum 17 November 2015

Carisbrooke Castle

Braving high winds and rain, 14 intrepid RSHG members visited Carisbrooke Castle Museum on 17 November 2015. Rosemary Cooper gave a most interesting and enjoyable illustrated talk  on ‘Toys from the Past.’ Following the talk members visited the ‘Toys from the Past’  exhibition and also had the opportunity to see further toys, not usually on display and have a handling session.  Various toys from the 17th up to the 20th Century were viewed, including several belonging to the children of Dr Williamson of Ventnor. Some people took time to look at other general museum displays. The current WW1 exhibition was of particular interest. Volunteers from the museum provided welcome cups of tea and biscuits.
