Ignorance is Bliss
There is an old woman living within seven miles of Ryde, who never heard of the electric telegraph, galvanism, atmospheric railways, or gutta percha; never saw a railway or dock; never travelled by any conveyance, save her legs; don’t know the meaning of funds, stocks, shares, “nor no trickery” except banks, where she saved a little money, and lost it; and who wishes to go to the grave in the “old fashioned way!”
