Christmas Celebration 2019

On Tuesday 17th December, 2019, Ryde Social Heritage Group opened their doors for a Christmas Celebration Drop-in at the Resource Centre at Ryde Cemetery.

The Centre was festively decorated, with Carols singing, we had over 30 people come in for mulled wine, tea, coffee and mince pies over the 4 hours we were open.

Visitors sat at tea tables to chat and have time to look at our archives. At one time it was standing room only, very encouraging.  The raffle was well received and people were eager to participate.

In the South chapel we were able to bring out some of our collection of large and small maps for people to peruse and for visitors to have a look at our new “Winter in Ryde Cemetery” display boards.

People were in a festive mood and enjoyed the atmosphere and had time to have a good look at what we do at the Resource Centre.
