Other Information: On 12 January 2008 Julie Power contacted us with this information: "Ada Louisa's birth was registered Q1 1859, Ryde, IOW. Her father was Charles Halsted and her mother was Sarah Humber Halsted nee Sanders. She was born at 3 Simeon Street, Ryde. The family later lived at 80 George Street, Ryde, and include a sibling of 8 days later to be known as Rose Harriet who also has a grave in the cemetery: RSHG 006 B3, Plot OPC4 618. The family subsequently moved to 2 Castle Street. Charles' occupation was as a Painter Journeyman. He may have worked for his father-in-law, Thomas Sanders, who was Innkeeper of the Vine Inn, Castle Street, Ryde and builder (I believe) of the Royal Victoria Arcade. It is said that he never got paid for the construction and went back to being just an Innkeeper".
