Mr Robert Saunders
"The seven grandchidren of Walter Scott Saunders (born 12 Jan 1870 at 11 High Street, Ryde) all live in Queensland and are referred to as the 'Saunders Cousins' although only one of them bears the name Saunders. For the past 20 years or so, these seven together with their seven spouses, have met together two or three times each year. All fourteen are in their late seventies or early eighties. (I am one of the spouses).
A few years back they pooled their recollections of their Saunders parents for the benefit of their descendants in a private publication 'The Saunders Family'. Last year I decided to take the research a little further. The starting point was a marriage certificate of Walter marrying Florence Ann Hoy on 27 February 1897.
The 'More Saunders Family' attachment covers part of a resulting private publication of the same name which also included info on the Hoy family and various background info on the Isle of Wight, Glasgow and Florence Hoy's Cinque Port Pilot ancestors.
The info in the attachment mainly came from English census records or FreeBMD, with a little help from cerificates from the General Register office. The certificates I hold are deaths of Ann Saunders 1845, Robert Saunders 1868, Jane Saunders 1881, Henry Robert Saunders 1906; the 1866 marriage of Henry Saunders and Elizabeth Payne, and Walters' birth in 1870.
You will see that without access to parish records there are gaps about the earlier ancestors and relatives. (Your grave site added previously unknown info about the death of Emma, for which thanks.)"
