Many thanks for your assistance in locating the resting place of both this Thomas and his grandson, Thomas. I have a copy of his baptismal entry from Sunderland stating that he was born on APRIL 2ND 1795, the son of Thomas and Mary Hudson and that he was baptised on May 3rd 1795. Also I have a copy of his death certificate which confirms that he died on 13 June 1866, and states that he died of "disease of heart" at 8 High Street, Ryde, aged 71 years."
