FOR 38 YEARS VICAR OF BICESTER,
IN THE COUNTY OF OXFORD
HE ENTERED INTO REST
ON AUGUST 14TH 1889
AGED 83 YEARS

"CALLED THROUGH DIVINE GRACE IN EARLY LIFE
TO THE MINISTRY OF THE GOSPEL,
HE COUNTED ALL THINGS BUT LOSS FOR CHRIST,
AND SEEKING TO WALK IN HIS SAVIOUR'S FOOTSTEPS,
HIS HIGHEST HAPPINESS WAS IN THE WORK
OF STRIVING TO WIN SOULS TO HIM.
IN THIS LABOUR OF LOVE HE CONTINUED
UNTIL A SHORT TIME BEFORE HE WAS PERMITTED
TO ENTER HIS HEAVENLY HOME"
