Nov 15th 1975:  SUCH A SUCCESS – Ryde St. John’s Primary School bonfire night celebrations are turning into such a success, say the organisers, that in future years the possibility of other local organisations taking part should be considered.  More than 1,000 people turned up for this year’s hour-long display on Appley Beach, Ryde.  A competition for the best Guy Fawkes attracted 30 entries.
