Members Meeting 9 July 2016
The RSHG Members Meeting at the George St Centre on Saturday 9 July was very enjoyable and 40 people attended. After the main business with updates on the Group's activities, Mark Wingham gave an excellent talk on 'The Golden Age of Picture Postcards.'


Greenmount School Visit 29 June 2016
Year 5 from Greenmount Primary School visited Ryde Cemetery with their teacher Mr Alabie. The visit was part of their Victorian studies this term. The children moved around different activities including walks, mapping and research.


Summer Beauty
The cemetery is a lovely place to walk in Summer, it is peaceful and there are many birds, insects and plants to see.

The Battle of Jutland Centenary
This year marks the centenary of the Battle of Jutland which took place between May 31st and June 1st 1916. The Battle of Jutland was a naval battle fought by the British Royal Navy's Grand Fleet under Admiral Sir John Jellicoe, against the Imperial German Navy's High Seas Fleet under Vice-Admiral Reinhard Scheer during the First World War.
