On Saturday 24th September, despite the many counter attractions available on the day, we were still able to attract some 50 visitors
If you ask people about Royal visitors to Ryde in the past the first person they are likely to think of is Queen Victoria. When resident at Osborne, Queen Victoria was a frequent visitor to Ryde, arriving at the Pier, driving through in her carriage, calling on aristocratic neighbours, attending events, even doing a spot of shopping.

In August our busy research team added 27 biographical records to names on the website, including that of Edward Barnett, who was highly respected in Ryde
Our 'Ryde Characters' have been out and about again, making a return visit to the Elim Church Senior Circle on Wednesday 3rd August 2016 at their premises in Albert Street.
At this time of year many of us enjoy the fruits of our labours in the garden but in Britain, during the Second World War, gardening took on a whole new meaning with "digging for victory".
Join us on Tuesday 2 August. At this time of year the conservation area in the cemetery has so much wild-life, and the butterflies are everywhere.
