As a group we usually take part in the “Big Garden Birdwatch”, but of course this year all is different.


In December, our busy research team added 24 biographical records to names on the website, including that of Mr William Coote, trinity pilot, who worked from the "Fox" Trinity Pilot Cutter.


In November, our busy research team added 40 biographical records to names on the website, including that of Mr Edward Kennett Minter, who for many years traded as a butcher in High Street, Ryde.


In October, our busy research team added 33 biographical records to names on the website, including that of Mr Henry John Linington, who for many years was in the employ of Messrs. Chaplin as a boatman.


Following Ryde’s successful application to Historic England’s High Street Heritage Action Zone fund (HSHAZ), the programme is now beginning to get underway.


In September, our busy research team added 42 biographical records to names on the website, including that of Mr Alfred Edwin Macleod-Carey, manager of the National Telephone Co.


In August, our busy research team added 42 biographical records to names on the website, including that of Miss Kate Hollis, who started her career as a pupil teacher.
