We are hosting a “Beat Surgery” at the Ryde Cemetery, on one day each month. It will be held by Ryde Police in the South Chapel on a Tuesday, dates and times will be advertised in advance.
Mrs. Sarah Woodford, believed to be the oldest inhabitant of the Island, she had celebrated her 102nd birthday on September 11th, 1955.
The Ryde police raided a licensed house---The Royal Sovereign, Castle Street, on Thursday afternoon 23 June 1910, alleging that the premises were being used for betting purposes. Their entry occurred at about a quarter to two o’clock.
In July of 1910, the news that a new and up-to-date steamer will to be added to the Joint Railway Company’s fleet of steamers for their service between Ryde and Portsmouth.

We would like to invite members, friends, and all who are able to spare a while to join us for a Christmas get together on Saturday 7 December 2024, from 10am till 2pm at the Ryde Cemetery Heritage Resource Centre.
As usual the Annual Service of Remembrance held in the South Chapel at Ryde Cemetery was well attended, with 34 guests.

On the 5th November 16 people turned up at Ryde Cemetery to join in a Fungi Foray, led by Dr Colin Pope. Because of the rather wet conditions this year it was hoped to see a good variety, and we weren't disappointed.
