Miss Brigstocke, was a lady who had much interested in the welfare of the town of Ryde, and had presented gifts on many occasions previously.


Mr. Cheverton whose face was well-known at Messrs Smith and Son’s Ryde Bookstall, was promoted, and had taken charge of a larger branch at Portsmouth.


In May 1913 the building that had been used as a Baptist Chapel and School in Monkton Street was advertised for sale by direction of the Board of Charity Commissioners for England and Wales. 


Those about the streets on Thursday evening 13 February 1908, were doubtless struck with the entire absence of that demonstrative class of juveniles.


The new H.Q. at Somerset Road were opened by the Mayor of Ryde, on Saturday 14th May 1949.


On Thursday 13th April 1905, the formal sending off of four of the ‘buses of the I.W. Express Motor Syndicate on their several routes was performed by Lady Adela Cochrane.


A townsman had picked up an old Guide to the Island (John Albins, 1830), and sent it to the newspaper with a few places marked.
