Ryde Residents Return
Entertainment was provided for Elim Senior Circle when Harry Withington (otherwise known as 'the Yankee') was rather alarming dressed as a cowboy and waving a gun around! His nagging wife Sarah was also a bit scary with her threatening walking stick.

January 2017 Biographical details added
In January, our busy research team added 41 biographical records to names on the website, including that of Mr William Gabell, a well-known townsman. He started a printing business at 43 Union Street, Ryde.


Archive and Records Day 2017
A very interesting event was enjoyed by members and friends on Saturday 4th February 2017 from 10am till 2pm at Ryde library.


RSPB Garden Birdwatch 2017
On Saturday 28 January 18 people met at Ryde Cemetery Heritage and Learning Centre for the RSPB Garden Birdwatch event. Fortunately it was dry and sunny, although rather chilly.


Archive & Records Day 2017
Ryde Social Heritage Group are holding an Archive & Records Day in Ryde library on the 4th February from 10am till 2pm. We hope to see you there.


December 2016 Biographical details added
In December, our busy research team added 34 biographical records to names on the website, including that of Mr Edwin Joyce. A carver and guilder, of 49 Union-street, Ryde.
