In November, our busy research team added 53 biographical records to names on the website, including that of John Peter Gassiot, port wine merchant and amateur scientist.

The Service of Remembrance took place in the South Chapel of Ryde Cemetery on the 7th November 2019, at 6.30, which was appropriately decorated for the occasion.

We were blessed with fine dry weather for the insect walk, led by Richard Smout. around 18 people took part. Richard explained that ‘insects’ was a vast topic and that within the various species could be hundreds of sub species.

There was a very good attendance at the July Quarterly Meeting held at the George Street Centre on 13th July 2019. There were 31 members and nine visitors, making a total of 40 persons present.
